The proposed stages for the Grand Départ 2030 are more than just sporting tests. They outline a route through vibrant cities, places steeped in history and varied landscapes that show Central Germany in all its diversity. These are still just plans and wishes that are intended to combine sporting excitement with impressive impressions - a preview of how the region could inspire millions of spectators locally and worldwide.

Grand Départ

The start of the Grand Départ 2030 is intended as a celebratory highlight. The sporting spectacle, which will have the world looking towards Central Germany, begins with the big team presentation in Dresden. From the city on the Elbe, the first stage leads through varied landscapes and traditional towns to Jena. The route is planned to be both challenging and impressive - from the steep wall of Meerane to the finish in the heart of Thuringia. It is still a proposal that shows how sport, history and emotions could flow together in the opening act.

Along the route there are places steeped in history and challenging climbs, for example in the Kyffhäuser or Harz mountains.
